Illustration, fiction and interaction.
During a course in History of Design we were tasked with redesigning an object to a specific design-historic era in time. I chose to work on the Macintosh icons, first designed by Susan Kare in 1984. I redesigned them to the era of Art Nouveau, specifically to the year 1905 with the illustrations by Alfons Mucha in mind.
I picked out five desktop icons that we still recognize and use today, along with the arrow, or pointer, the watch and finally the Apple logo.
